"Lullaby of Bird-land"

Here's the lovely Miss E posing on her small quilt, "Lullaby of Bird-land."  She is the sweetest baby, loves to smile and laugh, and poses perfectly for quilt photos!  She was about 3 months old when I snapped this photo.

The bird fabric had been in my stash for a while, just waiting, so I did a star in the center, then added border after border to make a medallion style quilt.

Playing with Baskets

I've admired the basket quilts in Gwen Marsden's book Liberated Quiltmaking II, so I decided to have a go:  

I put them together and added a border of flying geese to make a table runner.  The colors go with my dining room, and I'm adding Insul-Bright batting to allow the runner to be like a hot pad.

There's a lot going on in the design wall department right now.  I'll post more when I get a few minutes to upload photos from my snazzy iphone.
